Two Trees Ministries Shining Light In Dark Places

Blessed Or Robbed

image

Blessed because John 3 verse 16:

"For God loved the world in this way; He gave His One and Only Son, so that everyone who believes in Him will not perish but have eternal life".

Blessed because of the main reasons His Son Our Lord and Friend came:

1.To stop us from being robbed; john 10 verse 10:

"The thief {Satan} comes only to steal and kill and destroy".

2. And to give us what we didn’t deserve;

"i am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly".

There are two words for ‘life’ in the original Greek language in which the New Testament was originally written.

There is first of all the word ‘bios’, from which we get the word ‘biology’. This means finite, physical life,

Then there is the word ‘zoe’, from which we get the word ‘zoology’. This means infinite, spiritual life.

This is what our Lord and Our Friend is saying that He came to earth in order to give those who follow Him a life that lasts for ever with Him,  A life with more abundance, abundant life that satisfies everything in our lives, and our deepest longings. A blessed life, in Him and Through Him.

Most of the world settle for a life, that the adversary of God offers and have been, robbed, over and over again.

We are blessed because Our Lord and Our Friend is All-powerful and came to defeat Satan, and to restore what the enemy has stolen, the abundant Life, He first created for us to walk in.

Blessed or Robbed it is a choice; Joshua 24 verse 15; Choose today who you serve, ‘As for me and my family we will worship The Lord’, not for what He can give us, but because He loves us and wants to bless us, with a life of more abundance.

God Bless.

A Blessed and Holy Christmas To All

image

Oh the wonders of Christmas time, it has come around again.

Two Trees ministries was established so that people anywhere and everywhere can come to know Our Loving God. {Our Lord and Our Friend}.

The Amazing Love that God has for us all, so lets look at one of the vital aspects of the Christmas and Gospel message. The virgin birth of Jesus Christ is the most wonderful and vital fact to the truth of the Good News, which brings newness of life to all who accept.

Since Jesus Christ is God. He existed before Mary, therefore, He could not have been conceived as are all other babies. He was not only born, but He “came into the world.”   {John 18 verse 37}.

Jesus Christ is both God and man, the sinless lamb of God {1 Peter 1 verse 19}.

The Message of Christmas is “God with us”. In reading the Gospel of Matthew the Gospel opens and closes with this message. {Math 1 v 23 and Mathew 28 v 30}.

So let this Christmas time be a time for us all to reflect “God with Us.”

Christmas time is a time of great love and joy, share it with all those you meet and particularly those closest to you. It is also a time for refreshing.  We will be back in the New year, to share and encourage with messages of God’s love for us.

Our writings are not only to encourage all who read them, but to encourage us at the ministry as we delve deeper in to His word.

Have a Very Blessed and Merry Christmas from all at Two trees {Our Lord and Our Friend} Ministries.

Reflective Glance At The sermon On The Mount.

image

When we look over the Sermon on the Mount. Mathew Chapter 5:

We find two alternatives, the first is self-reliance and the second is reliance on God, a good life lived for the wrong reasons and a good life that arises from God’s Grace.

The Sermon {A speech on a moral subject} begins Mathew 5 verse 3:

V3: “Blessed are the poor in Spirit, because the kingdom of heaven is theirs”.

V4: “Blessed are those that mourn, because they will be comforted”,

V5: Blessed are the gentle, because they will inherit the earth”.

V6: Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness. because they will be filled.”

V7: “Blessed are the merciful, because they will be shown mercy.”

V8: “Blessed are the pure in heart, because they will see God.”

V9: “Blessed are the peacemakers, because they will be called sons of God.”

V10: “Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness, because the Kingdom of heaven is theirs.”

V11: “Blessed are you when they insult you and persecute you and falsely say every kind of evil against you because of Me.”

The First alternative can not get us to Heaven, Because of what is said in Mathew 5 verse 20:

"For I {Jesus} tell you, unless your righteousness surpasses that of the scribes and Pharisees, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven."

The second alternatives leads to an eternal destiny, because righteousness comes from God to those who hunger for it, to those who are poor in spirit, to the broken, to those who know themselves to be recipients of God’s Grace. Grace which is God’s favor at Christ expense, He died and rose again for us.

Lets concluded with Mathew 6 verse 31 to 34::

V31; “So don’t worry, saying, ‘What will we eat?’ or ‘What will we drink?’ or What will we wear?’”

V32 “For the Idolaters eagerly seek all these things, and your Heavenly Father know you need them.”

V33: But seek first the kingdom Of god, and His righteousness and all these things will be provide to you.”

Finally Luke 12 verse 24:

”Consider the ravens; They don’t sow and reap: they don’t have a storeroom or a barn; yet God feeds them. Aren’t  you worth much more then the BIRDS.”

God Bless.

Ephesians

A wonderful book to read. It is virtually a Spiritual health check for us all.

Ephesians set out in memorable terms and vivid pictures, the practical consequences of what God has done in Christ.

Ephesians 1:4

Believers (followers of Christ) Chrisitians are chosen. But let’s read from verse 3: ‘Blessed by God the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavens of Christ’.

Verse 4: ‘For He chose us in Him before the foundations of the world, to be Holy and blameless in His sight.’

You see there is an ‘US’ there. If we are in Christ Jesus, we are blessed with every spiritual blessing. We are chosen. There is a place God has made for us, and he will equip us. Believers have a new status.

Verse 7: ‘In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses according to the riches of His grace.’

(Speaking of Riches why not take a read of Old Fellow John’s poem on riches here)

Believers are specially taught.

Verse 9: He has made known to us the mystery of His will.

Verse 13-14: Believers are given an inheritance.

All the wealth of heaven is made over to them, the Holy Spirit is a first installment or appetiser of all that God has for us in Christ.

Ephesians gives us hope. God is able to use even sinful human choices for His purposes and whatever God does for those in Christ, He does accordingly to a carefully orchestrated plan for their benefit.

Ephesians describes the eternal benefit of faith in Christ, it explains that our faith is a move from death to life.

In Ephesians, there is a focus on unity in Christ. We are members of the body of Christ. Ephesians compares the unity we have in Christ with a mantle unity. This book tells us to prepare for a fight not carnal, but spiritual warfare.

2 Corinthians 10:3-4 (Corinthians also written by Paul)

For although we are walking in the flesh (physical appearance), we do not wage war in a fleshly way. Since the weapons of our warfare are not fleshly but physical through God for the demolition of strongholds.’

Paul was writing Ephesians from a jail cell but he didn’t consider himself a prisoner of circumstance, he refers to himself as the prisoner of the Lord. It didn’t matter to Paul that he was in jail, where ever he was he knew he was to do the Lord’s work. Our ministry statement ‘WE MUST BE ABOUT THE BUSINESS OF OUR LORD AND FRIEND’.

Let us finish with Ephesians 2:17-18

'Christ came and preached peace to you who were far away and to those who were near. For through Him we both have access to the Father by one Holy Spirit.’

This is a brief study of Ephesians we would leave you to read. The whole book is refreshing for your walk with our Lord and friend.

We will leave you with a reflective thought: ‘It is never the cost of your ministry (or walk) that is inspirated, it is the fruit of your ministry (or walk) that is important to God’.

God bless.

A Gem from Psalms

Psalm 1: The two directions.

"How happy is the man who does not follow the advice of the wicked?"   [holman study bible]

"Blessed is the man that walks not in the counsel of the ungodly" [king James version]

The word happy, “blessedness of” refers to the joy and satisfaction that comes from knowing that one is right with God, even though at times conflict with the world may bring disagreements.

The poem written on our first post “Oh what it is`to be a Christian” refers to this kind of Happiness [blessedness of knowing]

The second part of this verse “the advice of the wicked” [hsb]

"Not the counsel of the ungodly" [kjv]

We need the advice of unbelievers through life on technical issues, such as doctors and lawyers [not all doctors and lawyers are unbelievers just examples of people we may need advice from] But with the things pertaining to God, moral issues, and faithfulness we need more than just the counsel of man. We need that joy and satisfaction that comes from knowing Him.

From the poem again: “the light real Christians follow is the everlasting Presence of God”.

Don’t be confused; the ‘happy’ refered to in the first translation [hsb]

is ‘thye blessed’ in the [kjv]

comes from the original Hebrew ‘esher, [eh’-sher] happiness, which literally means we have the Blessed assurance of who He is and that He will never leave us or forsake us.

Think about that over your morning coffee, think about that over those stress inducing moments, think about that when the giants around you rear their ugly heads and try to beat you into submission. He will never leave you or forsake you.

So today be Happy, and hold onto that blessed assurance of who he is!

Feels like a great day coming!

A Gem from the Gospel of MATTHEW

Everybody has a confession, everybody has a belief.

In the Gospel of Matthew Chapter 16 verses 13 to 20, there is a wonderful gem of Truth.

Jesus asked those close to Him who do people say that He is. There are many opinions around today as well, but most exciting gem of truth from the scripture is not that Peter said it, it was what Peter said.

Verse 16 Simon{Peter] answered ” You {Jesus} are the Messiah the Son of the Living God.”

Jesus’s response was even more exciting, “Simon{Peter] you are blessed because flesh and blood did not reveal that to you but My Father in heaven.”

The reality of Truth is in all of us, but the awakening to that Truth that Peter said is available to all of us.

People, friends and clergy {ministers pastors priest] may tell us about Jesus and His teachings but until His teachings become alive to us, the revelation of who Jesus is just a belief or tradition.

Ask and keep on asking and God will reveal the fullness of Himself to you.

The Reality of the Christ {messiah] is the hidden Gem through all scripture, and is the bases of our confession My LORD MY FRIEND.
